# Levels

Levels mark your transformation inside μLearn not just how much Karma you've earned, but who you've become. There are seven levels, each answering a deeper question about your growth.

Levels exist to make growth visible and meaningful. Not just how much Karma you've accumulated but what kind of contributor you've become. What questions you've answered about yourself. What stage of the journey you're at. Each level is not a reward. It is a **transformation marker.**

### <mark style="color:$primary;">What Each Level Means</mark>

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 1 - The First Hello</mark>

*Who am I?*

You showed up. You introduced yourself. The ecosystem knows you exist. This is the first act of trust putting yourself in a new community and saying "I'm here." Peers acknowledge each other. A micro-network forms.

**What PoW looks like here:** Completed self-introduction in the community, acknowledged by peers.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 2 - The Mindset Shift</mark>

*How do I see the world?*

You stopped collecting certificates and started building proof. At Level 2 you engage with μLearn's philosophy proof-of-work over credentials, peer validation, self-directed learning. You reflect on how you've been learning and articulate what you want to learn differently. This is the shift everything else depends on. Without it you're just doing tasks. With it you're building something that compounds.

**What PoW looks like here:** A reflection note or community discussion on learning philosophy.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 3 - Tools of the Trade</mark>

*What can I use to navigate it?*

You know how to operate inside μLearn. You've found your Interest Group. You've completed your first real task. You understand how Karma works and where to find challenges.

**What PoW looks like here:** Joined at least one IG, completed one Karma-earning task.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 4 - Finding Your Tribe</mark>

*Where do I belong?*

You've committed to a domain. You have peers who share your interest. You're building domain fluency not just dabbling across everything. This is where identity forms. Where you stop being "someone who joined μLearn" and start being "a designer" or "a developer" or "a chess player who builds."

**What PoW looks like here:** 5+ Karma-earning tasks within a single domain IG.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 5 - The Arena</mark>

*How can I prove myself?*

You stopped learning in private and started performing in public. Hackathons. Sprints. Peer reviews. Competitions. Real judgment. Real feedback. Real growth under pressure. This is the first real exposure to being evaluated and discovering that you're more capable than you thought.

**What PoW looks like here:** Completed at least one challenge with a verifiable output a project, submission, or peer-reviewed work.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 6 - The Builder</mark>

*What can I build?*

You don't just participate anymore. You initiate. You lead IGs. You organise events. You build projects. You mentor others. You create things that exist beyond yourself things the community uses, references, and builds on.

**What PoW looks like here:** Led or co-created a verifiable community output an IG session, project, program, or event.

#### <mark style="color:$primary;">Level 7 - The μVerse</mark>

*Where do I go?*

This is where the world finds you. Jobs. Internships. Global programs. Investor pipelines. Leadership roles. At this level you're not searching for opportunities. Opportunities are searching for you. You didn't wait. You built until you arrived here.

**What PoW looks like here:** Active in μCareers or placed through a μLearn opportunity pipeline.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">The Progression Logic</mark>

Levels 1 through 4 - Karma doubles each time. 200, 400, 800.

Early levels are designed to be reachable building momentum, creating early wins, keeping you engaged before the habit is fully formed. From Level 5 onward the threshold stabilises at 1,600. The climb is consistent. What changes is not the difficulty it is the depth and quality of what you're building.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Levels Are Not Just Rewards - They Are Expectations</mark>

Each level comes with expectations, not just recognition:

* Higher levels - higher quality bar for Proof of Work
* Leadership levels - accountability for community health
* Top-tier levels - representation of μLearn to external stakeholders

*Progression in μLearn is not just about earning more. It is about becoming more responsible.*

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Multiple Pathways to Progress</mark>

Not all progression is linear. μLearn recognises five contribution pathways all of which earn Karma and advance levels:

| Pathway | Focus |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **Builder** | Technical and creative output |
| **Facilitator** | Learning Circle and community leadership |
| **Connector** | Partnerships, outreach, stakeholder engagement |
| **Researcher** | Knowledge creation and documentation |
| **Organiser** | Events, initiatives, campus activation |

Your path through the levels is yours to define.

### <mark style="color:$primary;">Accelerated Path to Level 4</mark>

If you already have domain proficiency existing projects, portfolios, or contributions you don't have to start from Level 1.

You can submit your existing Proof of Work directly to the µLearn team for manual review. If your submission meets the Level 4 standard, you are placed at Level 4 directly without completing the standard task progression through Levels 1 to 3.This path is for learners who are already building. Not a shortcut a recognition that real skills don't always start inside µLearn.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Manual Intervention: Accelerated Level 4 placement requires manual review by the µLearn team. Submit your existing Proof of Work via lvl-skip in discord.
